Prince William County Public Schools offers high school students specialty programs, career and technical education programs, Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC), The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park, and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

Middle School Specialty Program Information

Middle school students in Prince William County are offered the options of remaining at their base school, transferring to a specialty program in World Languages, Mathematics and Science, or enrolling in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme or a Traditional School.

Elementary School Specialty Program Information
PWCS offers a Mathematics and Science Program, a World Languages Program, and Traditional School opportunities to elementary school students. In addition eight elementary schools are training to institute the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP). Six schools are in the consideration phase of this program.

Specialty Programs Description
Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) provides a wide range of opportunities for its students at the high school, middle school, and elementary school level.
Parents and students interested in learning more about specific specialty programs are invited to attend the information night presentations held each year during fall and winter. Please refer to the calendar on the right for specific dates and times.
Explore what each program has to offer by using browsing this Web site or by looking over the downloadable brochures provided in each section.
Your son or daughter has the following options:
• Remain in the regular program in your base school;
• Apply for the specialty program in your base school;
• Transfer for a specialty program at another school; or
• Transfer to a traditional school for grades 1–8.
